The Fly Fishing Master
June 1, 2008
My good friend and next door neighbor, Marshall Young knows fly fishing. He’s been involved in the industry for many years, working with companies such as Shakespeare. He has had countless articles in magazine and newspapers over the years. Now, 80 years “Young”, Marsh still fishes almost every day. You can find him wading the feeder creeks for Steelhead, walking the banks of French Creek stalking Walleye and Smallmouth Bass, or his favorite, fly-fishing under the overhanging trees in Union City Reservoir for Bluegills.
It’s a cool, but total coincidence that we live next to each other in such a small town, but it’s just nice to have another strange man casting in his back yard, testing equipment in the middle of winter. Now the neighbors don’t think I’m the only weirdo. Anne and I really enjoy Marsh and his wife, Ellen’s company. I could sit and listen to his stories for hours. We also get to spend a little time in the creek by our houses in the Fall stalking up on the Walleyes.

I introduced my long time friend, Jack Hanrahan to Marsh a couple years ago. Jack is a well known local photographer with some stellar accomplishments and National awards under his belt. The two recently paired up to do this short slide documentary over the weekend. I thought it was so cool I wanted to let you all take a look.
Enjoy! (Click here to watch)
