My very first vehicle was a Chevy Truck. Chevy has been a supporter of Pro Bass Fishing for a long time, and I’m proud to represent such a highly regarded company as part of the Chevy Pro Team.

“Focus on the task at hand and don’t worry about the uncontrollables.” Well that’s easy when you’re running a Yamaha. I never have to worry about my motor starting. I make super long runs and always know my Yamaha will get me to the weigh-in…and with fuel to spare.

In 2005 I ran a Z-20, in 2006, a Z-19, and since 2007, the bigger Z-21. So far I’ve loved them all. The Z Series Comanche is the best handling boat I’ve ever driven, and on the big waters of Lake Erie that’s saying something.

This is a revolutionary new tackle company created to bring consumers top of the line baits at an affordable price. Owned by the pros, TABU Tackle will never release a product unless it is first approved by every member…Thus the name Tournament Approved By Us!

My first tackle box was filled to the top with original floating and sinking Rapalas. I had every size in every color. I even caught my first bass ever on one at good old Lake Leboeuf. I still use the same ones today, and they still catch ‘em.

When fish won’t bite anything, they will totally kill a Kinami Nories Bug. I’ve used them in every lake I’ve fished over the last few years and fish love them everywhere. In tough conditions, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been “saved by the Bug.”

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones. When I put Reel Grips on my reel handles the first time, I knew I’d need a bunch more in a hurry. Not only do they add to the performance and overall feel of my reels, they also look cool.

No more settling for second best, Lowrance has the best line of electronics out there hands down. I have 2 HDS 8 GPS/Structure Scan combos on my boat and I don’t know how I ever got by without them. The live weather capability is a must have, especially for a serious Great Lakes angler.

It can be hard to find a good pair of prescription polarized sunglasses. I wear the Mossback and Amber tinted “Blast” model because they are perfect for both high-speed running and sight fishing.

Having a good boat dealer you can both depend on and easily work with is very important to me. Vic, Tommy, and Mom and Pops are great people who continually go out of their way to help anyone they can whenever they can. Maybe that’s why they were named the 2008 Dealer

I’ve been with the boys at Setyr Rods since the beginning, and I’m proud, but definitely not surprised at the rapid growth of the company. Setyr Rods are American made and the absolute best fishing rods I’ve ever held in my hands.product review 1,product review 2

I like the fact that they look natural and like part of whatever bait you’re fishing with,” said Lefebre. “I prefer colored weights most of the time. I don’t want my bait to look like it’s got a small stainless, kitchen appliance on its head.”

My Dad taught me how to read a flasher when I was little and I’m still a devoted flasher fan to this day. I’ve used every flasher on the market over the years and have finally settled upon the finest. Vexilar three color units rule! …For ice fishing too!

I’ve had as many as 10 fisherman’s markers laid out at one time and have never had a “passer byer” stop and employ the buoy pattern on me. These little gadgets are one of the most important tools in my boat, not the most important tool in someone else’s pattern.

I learned to cast with an old ABU Ambassaduer 5000 Baitcasting reel. That reel, though still in perfect working order, now sits in my trophy case. The new Revo Premier is the toughest, yet lightest one piece aluminum reel on the market. It sits in my rod box.

For those extra tough, rugged conditions, you can’t beat Spider Wire Stealth. I use from 6lb on Lake Erie all the way up to 65lb for flipping . It is without a doubt the most spool friendly braided line out there, and not to mention holds its color longer than any other braid.

If you’re without a Mizmo tube in my neck of the woods, you’ve got a serious problem. My friends at Mizmo are the leading tube manufacturer in the world, making every size, color and shape imaginable. I’d never go fishing without them.
