- Dave is the only angler in bass tournament history to qualify for all 4 of bass fishing’s major championships in a single season (2003), the BFL All-American, Stren Series Championship, FLW Tour Championship, and the Bassmasters Classic.
- Dave is the only angler in the history of FLW Outdoors to achieve two major bass fishing Angler of the Year titles in the same season (2006), the FLW Series and the Stren Northern Series.
- Dave was a member of the Kellogg’s Fishing Team for 6 seasons before joining the Chevy Team in 2010.
- Dave is an avid ice-fisherman and actually holds the World Record in the Fresh- Water Fishing Hall of Fame for the largest Black Crappie caught through the ice, a 3.8 pound slab caught on 1/2lb test line!
- Several years before turning pro, with the help from a couple friends, Dave formed his own bass club in Erie, Pa, called the Presque Isle Bassmasters (PIB). The club still exists today and is the only bass club in Erie Pennsylvania.
- Dave’s wife Anne made the cover of the Pennsylvania Sportsman Magazine back in June of 1996, several years before they married.
- Both of Dave’s Stren Series victories came while his wife, Anne was in the final stages of pregnancy. Mitchell was born on July 7 2002, and Macy was born on September 13, 2006.
- Dave’s very first paying sponsor had nothing to do with fishing at all. It was a golf course construction company called Frontier Construction that helped him get his start and then backed him for three more years.
- Dave turned down an art scholarship out of high school to pursue his dream of becoming a Professional Bass Fisherman.
- Dave is also a song writer whose played both drums and bass guitar in several bands, including a professional group that traveled the country and opened for many famous country artists.
